"Typical mean Republican"

Really? Bet you didn't even watch the speech.

She was articulate, she reached out to all Americans for their support and she did a great job of explaining why it is she is more than qualified for the job of VP. Her 22 months experience as governor of Alaska is 22 months more executive experience than the entire Democrat ticket. Additionally, during that short period of time, she accomplished more reform than Obama did during his period as a state senator in Ill AND as a senator in DC. Neither has ever...EVER been in charge of anything where they had to answer to the people.
And I also think that she addressed the idiotic questions about whether she should be doing this with her kids at home without getting into the slime with the pigs who are throwing mud at her.

You want "change" for the better, Sarah Palin is your candidate...oh yeah, and that McCain guy.

She was awesome! Her presententation was excellent, she spoke directly to the camera, and she came across as a very strong leader. She appears to be a normal, likeable women who has a strong career and a loving family. She has proven accomplishments and experience, unlike the other candidate. Our country will move in a new direction with she and John McCain win the election.

Sara Palin is everything John McCain needed and even if you don't like him you have to admit anyone with the courage to hire her can't be all that bad. Anyone who saw that speach has to know by now that she is the woman behind the man we all need in the Whitehouse. She is exactly like every American mother out in the real world. She is dealing with a teenage pregnancy, can anyone say, if they aren't dealing with it themselves they don't know someone who is... She is a mother of a special needs child. Is there anyone living in the world today who wouldn't love to see special needs children and their families get the recognition and funding they need and deserve? If so, they would have an advocate in the Whitehouse.

For those of you who think she was mean? Well how many more times can the Democrats talk about how bad of a President George Bush has been? How much more junk can the leftist media talk about Bristol Palin's pregnancy? Is she really mean or just fighting back for all of the mean and nasty things the media is spreading about her family? This woman is a mama bear, she's protecting her cubs, just like she'll help John McCain protect us. We need a team of strong leaders in the Whitehouse and I think this pair is just he ticket!

In response to everyone who thought Mrs. Palin's speech was great, maybe she should have spoken more about her accomplishments and what she has actually done, rather than bashing her opponent. Maybe then, we could have actually learned a few things about her.

I agree that she was poised and articulate, but for someone who may be undecided as to whom to vote for, I learned nothing new about her. I need details.

written by Julianne, September 04, 2008
Articulate--yes. Also, mean spirited and typical of Republicans desperate for another chance, begging---give us four more years to try and fix all the things George W Bush screwed up.
She attacked the very ordinary people she claims to represent by trashing Obama's experience as a community organizer. Community group action is the way common folks deal with out of touch politicians and their failed policies.
It now appears Governor Palin is going to be forced to deal with some very serious charges---that she exerted pressure while in office to have another government official removed from his job because he wouldn't facilitate the firing of Palin's ex brother-in-law. In just a few days, the focus will be on the self righteous Palin's lack of the very integrity she claims to be her trademark.
So---there's a little "community organizing" going on right now in Alaska, as a few common folk step forward to reveal their Governor's possibly criminal behavior.

Excuse me Mimi, did you hear the speech? And Mouse, you mean by choice, pro-choice. Abortion is not the only issue on the planet people. Fighting terrorism so that we don't have bombs dropping on our heads is far more important in this election. Do you really think holding hands and negotiating with terrorists is going to be the answer? If you vote for Obama/Biden then that is exactly what you will get. Of course if you believe in abortion that strongly then the idea of terroists blowing us up is probably not a problem for you.

She's expecting and has a lot to learn. End of story. Good thing she didn't abort the child just to look good in the eyes of the country. Except responsibility and live a clean life like every mother should. It's her life and hopefully the 3 of them will be together for life. She started her family young maybe this child will let her see to plan the next child. Congratulations to daughter boyfriend baby grandmom & grandpop!

Looks like someone else above is using my name, LOL, whom I disagree with. Perhaps you were not watching the entire speech because I did learn who she is and she DID speak about her accomplishments and yes threw some clever digs at her opponent but they all do that. I lean towards Democratic views as I am pro-choice, I don't believe anyone has the right to tell a woman what she can do with her own body. However Obama as president frightens me. There are too many things wrong with him to mention. I thought Sara Palin gave a great speech, she came off as a REAL person. She will drill for oil so that we don't have to be completely dependant on other countries, she will cut wasteful government spending which if you research it, you will be amazed, it has always hit a nerve with me. McCain's decision to pick her was a good one. She may very well win this election for him.

Sarah Palin is the BOMB! She electrified the convention and re-engergized the Republican party. I watched every minute last week and this week and was almost sold on Obama, but I was so scared of his inexperience. Not now! Voting for him is off the table for me. Democrats always use abortion as a wedge issue, like that's all people care about is the right to KILL YOUR BABIES! Notice that when we had a Republican controlled House, Senate and President the issue wasn't touched ... dems always want to scare people into believing that's the important issue at hand, your right to kill your unborn child has no place in politics! Besides, it's up to the states and in Florida it's in our constitution. Funny how you can make a person that believes in the right to live into a monster. Her experience with the energy issues is one of the most important issues we face today and that's exactly what we need, someone to take on big oil, special interest groups and the corruption in Washington. Sold the private jet on E-Bay - I love it! Notice the Dems party was all about the showboating and the party itself ... no substance!
News flash, since she's been attacked for her inexperience for the last 6 days, she had to go on the attack too and address the stuff in the media about her family and inexperience and compare it to the inexperience of the other party - SHE HAD TO ATTACK!

I thought she was fantastic. We will continue to get to know her over the coming weeks, but in my book she's off to a great start--and I was really skeptical last Friday! I don't think her daughter's situation should make a difference. Yes, the annnouncement was a shock, but most people will get past it and move on to focusing on what really matters in this election. I don't understand the comment, "She made me proud to be a woman" however. I'm already proud to be who I am. Another woman's actions don't make me who I am. We can be proud of Palin, her accomplishments and what she stands for, but I don't see how that makes other women "proud" to be the same gender. I just don't "get" that connection. Let's all give Palin a chance to show us who she is and if she is right for the job of VP. The country could do a whole lot worse. While she may be a "heart beat away" from the presidency, we need to have confidence in the system and that she will be surrounded by a cabinet of experts and advisors who together can make the right choices for the American people in the event something happens to the President. smilies/smiley.gif

I thought it was a great speech and I feel much better voting for McCain with her as his running mate. She is the perfect compliment to him and a tough, experienced and accountable person. I grew up in a small town as well where everyone knew the decisions that the elected officials made. Our town residents held our elected officials accountable and if they didn't like a decision everyone knew where to find them to state their opposition. She had a high approval rating for much of her tenure; that fact stands alone.

She is just what every working mother who has to balance family, work and her children's activities can relate to. She is proudly confirms my vote for McCain and I feel proud of my party for being brave enough to know what the party needed for victory in November.

I thought she did a great job with trying to energize the party, but I was still disappointed not to hear more substance. I know that she has been given the job of attack dog against Obama/Biden, but I want to hear more about what she would do in the event that she became president. I think she lacks the kind of experience that is needed for the job -- and say what you will about Obama's experience, it's still broader in the places that count. I think the issue of her daughter should remain a family issue. I do want to know more about the ethics issues that are being raised, and I have a bit of a problem with her talking about working against earmarks when she has been one of the bigger users of the earmark system. So I'm still leaning toward Obama/Biden.

Sarah Palin is bright, articulate and every bit the snarky Republican politician.
For me--and dozens of my friends and co-workers--all of us college educated, working women---it's very simple.
We oppose the war started by George Bush which was based on a lie. We are fed up with looking at a Republican based deficit that was created by Bush/McCain after being handed the largest surplus in history by President Clinton. We are pro-choice--no one has the right to tell any woman what she can do with her body. We are for sex education in schools, including discussion/information about contraception as an alternative to simply demanding abstinence.
Finally---we are fed up with the militaristic mentality of this male dominated society. Just because someone dons a uniform and carries a gun does not justify the immorality of war. We are tired, fed up and unwilling to live with the macho, swinging dick mentality of the Republican party which says veterans matter more than average citizens. Our fathers and grandfathers fought to keep America free. But VietNam, Gulf War I and GW Bush's folly were unnecessary, immoral wars in whcih thousands of US soldiers died to protect huge political egos, not freedom.
We will cast our votes for Barack Obama and Joe Biden and John McCain/Sarah Palin be dammed!

She is patriotic, commited to the welfare of the country and will not be bullied or intimidated by the negative comments about her beliefs or her family's personal and private issues. I believe she will spend the governments money like she would spend her own, with prudent and thoughtful condsideration. She is elequent and thought provoking and adds a stimulating atmosphere to the political arena.

What experience does Obama have? I've been looking for over a year and all I've found is an empty record - no one seems to know what he's done and there is a large period of time that is unknown when he was a "community leader". I just want one person to show me what he has done. Seriously! What????

And by the way, it never ceases to amaze me how Dems don't want to be in a war and have a "militaristic mentality" as Jeanette says, with PEOPLE THAT HATE ALL OF OUR GUTS AND WANT TO KILL US (i.e. the Islamic Fundamentalist Extremists), but yet, you have no problem and not a thought in your head about killing innocent babies! The same with capital punishment - don't want to kill menaces to society, but vigorously defend the right to murder a baby. While I try to understand, I don't think others do ... hey Jeanette, don't you get that some people have different views about abortion and they aren't necessarily religious nuts! Once you're a mother, you realize that life begins at conception! And yes, I'm for choice even though I still think it's murder.
Maybe we have to have a nuclear bomb go off before people understand that Islamic Fundamentalist aren't the negotiating type - they're brainwashed!
Observations....
written by USC NM GIRL, September 04, 2008
1. She delivered her speech very well - I don't agree with much of what she said, but she did well in her delivery.

2. Her "personal" attacks on Obama and Biden were uncalled for. Go ahead and attack their ideas and policies, but don't attack them personally - it's really low class.

3. She is a pit bull (she said it!) - I found the way she gritted her teeth and scrunched up her nose while making the personal attacks on her opponents to be VERY unattractive...just like a pit bull. That's not what I want in a VP.

4. I think is was really unnecessary to parade the pregnant daughter's boyfriend out in front of everyone. That kid didn't ask for that - so they both made a bad choice, but Palin and McCain should not have used him as a piece of their political propaganda.

Pretty - yes. Well spoken - yes. Nice looking family - yes. Smart - yes. Still scary....most definitely!!

I voted Republican in every election until 2000 ( I voted for McCain in the primaries that year). It is ironic that the Republicans are so up in arms about the attention given to Sarah Palin's career responsibilities as she balances 5 children, including one who will be in Iraq (Godspeed), a 17 year old pregnant daughter and a son with Down syndrome. The Republicans - in general - have been the ones who have historically ranted about women needing to take care of their families and abstinence, etc., etc. The hypocrisy is deafening. While I think that Sarah Palin is clearly very smart and capable, and I do like the 2000 John McCain, my vote goes to Obama/Biden as George W. Bush et al. have ruined the Republican party for me and the country for the vast majority of us. I appreciate Obama's work as a community organizer - ho many turn down big job offers at Wall St firms to be a community organizer? I appreciate his vision and his ability to inspire and galvanize voters. As far as his executive experience, it hasn't been long, but the way he has conducted his campaign has demonstrated his ability to execute and manage people, budgets, and deal with "adversaries" effectively. Biden fills in gaps with his experience and his reputation. I believe that Obama reached across the aisle to get things done and I trust his judgement the most v. all those who put W in office for 8 painful years.

One final thing about the prolife/prochoice debate. I don't believe that being prochoice means being pro-abortion and I respect Obama's position that the real key is to reduce teenage pregnancy so that abortions will be reduced. The prolife movement to me is no more than a "pro-birth" movement of people who care more for the unborn than the born. There are too many children without parents who are in need. I suggest the prolife people spend more time finding these children good homes and helping single mothers with childcare. Walk the talk.

Sarah Palin's Speech
written by Long Time Voter, September 04, 2008
The Republican Convention is, according to them, for "service" and "America First"

It deserves to be noted -- they insulted the very idea that ordinary people have a role to play in our political process.

Both Rudy Giuliani and Sarah Palin specifically mocked Barack's experience as a community organizer on the South Side of Chicago more than two decades ago, where he worked with people who had lost jobs and been left behind when the local steel plants closed. As it was mentioned in a letter above: Community organizing is how ordinary people respond to out-of-touch politicians and their failed policies.

Ms Palin DID gIve a rousing speech. She has the talent to make her comments funny, sincere, or nasty ... with great success. She has a great talent and it is too bad she used it for insults.

I fail to understand how this tactic was supposed to unify our country; or how it will make it easier for her party to work bipartisan. Or how it shows that she and her party really place "America First."

To me, and yes ... I did listen to her, there was nothing Sarah said that would give me reason to support her as VP or President. Her speech had the same old rhetoric that does nothing to encourage the joint effort that is needed to fix the mess we are in.

My vote will go to Obama/Biden in November. We cannot continue on this path. Sarah's rousing acceptance at the Convention and even by the media last night has convinced me that we need a big dose of mutual respect. We don't have to agree, but for the progress we need, we do need to work together.

It has also convinced me that there will be no change unless we vote Democrat.

OBAMA/BIDEN 2008
From Someone who knows Miss. Sarah

Dear classmates -

As an Alaskan, I am writing to give all of you some information on Sarah Palin, Senator McCain's choice for VP. As an Alaska voter, I know more than most of you about her and, frankly, I am horrified that he picked her.

The most accurate description of her is red neck. Her husband works in the oil fields of Prudhoe Bay and races snow mobiles. She is a life time member of the NRA and has worked tirelessly to allow indiscriminate hunting of wildlife in Alaska, particularly wolves and bears. She has spent millions of Alaska state dollars on aerial
hunting of these predators from helicopters and airplanes, dollars that should have been spent, for example, on Alaska's failing school system. We have the lowest rate of high school graduation in the
country. Not all of you may think aerial predator hunting is so bad, but how anyone (other than Alaska wolf-haters, of which there are many, most without teeth), could think this use of funds is appropriate is beyond me. If you want to know more about the aerial
hunting travesty, let me know and I will send some links to informative web sites.

She has been a strong supporter of increased use of fossil fuels, yet the McCain campaign has the nerve to say she has "green" policies. The only thing green about Sarah Palin is her lack of experience. She has
consistently supported drilling in ANWR, use of coal-burning power plants (as I write this, a new coal plant is being built in her home town of Wasilla), strip mining, and almost anything else that will unnecessarily exploit the diminishing resources of Alaska and destroy
its environment.

Prior to her one year as governor of Alaska, she was mayor of Wasilla, a small red neck town outside Anchorage. The average maximum education level of parents of junior high school kids in Wasilla is 10th grade.
Unfortunately, I have to go to Wasilla every week to get groceries and other supplies, so I have continual contact with the people who put Palin in office in the first place. I know what I'm talking about.
These people don't have a concept of the world around them or of the serious issues facing the US. Furthermore, they don't care. So long as they can go out and hunt their moose every fall, kill wolves and bears
and drive their snow mobiles and ATVs through every corner of the wilderness, they're happy. I wish I were exaggerating.

Sarah Palin is currently involved in a political corruption scandal. She fired an individual in law enforcement here because she didn't like how he treated one of her relatives during a divorce. The man's
performance and ability weren't considered; it was a totally personal firing and is currently under investigation. While the issue isn't close to the scandal of Ted Steven's corruption, it shows that Palin
isn't "squeaky clean" and causes me to think there may be more issues that could come to light. Clearly McCain doesn't care.

When you line Palin up with Biden, the comparison would be laughable if it weren't so serious. Sarah Palin knows nothing of economics (admittedly a weak area for McCain), or of international affairs, knows nothing of national government, Social Security, unemployment,
health care systems - you name it. The idea of her meeting with heads of foreign governments around the world truly frightens me.

In an increasingly dangerous world, with the economy in shambles in the US, Sarah Palin is uniquely UNqualified to be vice president. John McCain is not a young man. Should something happen to him such that the vice president had to step in, it would destroy our country and possibly the world to have someone as inexperienced and inappropriate as Sarah Palin. The choice of Palin is a cheap shot by McCain to try to get Hillary supporters to vote for him. when McCain introduced her today, Palin had the nerve to compare herself with Hillary and Geraldine Ferraro. Sarah Palin, you are no Hillary Clinton.

*this gets gooderer and gooderer.....

written by Becky, September 04, 2008
OK, Young, I'll give you some of his experience -- 8 years as a state senator from Illinois where he worked for health care reform and ethics reform. He now has two years in the U.S. Senate where he shows judgment on foreign policy, too (he had the guts to speak out against this unnecessary war!). He is on the senate committees for foreign relations; homeland security; veterans affairs; health, education, labor and pensions. He studied political science with an emphasis on international relations at Columbia. He has worked for lessening our reliance on foreign oil by increasing fuel efficiency standards and researching alternative fuels (what has Palin done in her "energy policy" but advocate more drilling?) And I guess the thing that I find most reassuring is that he is known as a quick study and has the intelligence to know what he doesn't know and to seek out experts on those issues where his knowledge is thin. No one can be an expert on everything in this complex world, and I'm impressed that he doesn't pretend that he does. So, although I don't agree on all of his positions, I still think that Obama/Biden is the best choice to get us out of the hole that Bush has placed us in.
...
written by Young, September 04, 2008
Actually, he's only been in the Senate for 4 years of which he started campaigning 2 years into it and the Republicans controlled the Senate for the first 2, so needless to say, he didn't accomplish much. Including, not writing one major piece of legislation, or one minor piece either. When he was present, he actually voted to the left of his party and was voted the most liberal voting Senator! But, I'm not asking about his time in the Senate, because that is well docuemented that he didn't do much if anything. I'm talking about 20 years of "community service" that no one can seem to find a record of except one steel plant closing that he "helped people" ... helped them do what? Where's the proof ... isn't this the same time he was going to Reverend Wright's church and hanging with the black panthers?

He was elected to the Illinois Senate in 1996 and served until 2004, when he was elected to the U.S. Senate -- that adds up to eight years in my book! What 20 years are you referring to? He graduated from Columbia in 1983 and worked in New York until 1985, when he went to Chicago, working as director of the Developing Communities Project in the South Side. Under his leadership, the project helped set up a job training program for displaced steel workers, a tutoring program and worked for tenant's rights. In 1988, he entered Harvard Law School, where he was the first black president of the Harvard Law Review, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1991. He taught Constitutional Law at the University of Chicago Law School from 1992 to 2004. During this time he also worked as a civil rights attorney for Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Galland. He also directed Illinois Project Vote in 1992. So I see plenty of relevant experience here. Young, tell me again what your question was? By the way, I got this information from several independent sources, not from his website.
Articulate but full of lies!

For those who say they know nothing about Barack Obama, try fightthesmears.com,truthfightsback.com or Obama.Senate.gov

Let's just mention a few of the lies spewed last night:
1). Sarah Palin,(SP) got more votes in her 1st run for mayor of a town of 7,000 than the 84,000 votes Joe Biden got in his presidential run??!!
2). Claiming that Barack Obama's plan is to raise our taxes when his plan is to ONLY raise taxes on people with individual incomes over a quarter-million dollars thus, actually cutting middle class taxes to try to restore fairness lost under Bush.
3) SP said, Obama authored "no major law, not even in the State Senate" when the FACT is as a State Senator, Obama helped pass the 1st MAJOR ETHICS REFORM BILL in 25 yrs, then in the U.S. Senate, Obama passed the most sweeping package since Watergate, and reached across party lines to pass, with Senator Lugar, legislation to help keep nuclear weapons out of the hands of terrorists and, with Senator Coburn, legislation to create a revolutionary database that makes government more transparent and accountable!
4) SP continued to lie about Barack Obama's energy plan. Whereas McCain sees more drilling as the "main answer" to oil problems, the TRUTH is Obama is for producing more clean energy and ending our addiction to oil. He has the most comprehensive energy plan of any Presidential candidate in history.
5). On negotiations and diplomacy, SP attacked Obama for holding the position that "THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION" has belatedly been forced to adopt; holding direct talks with Iran. In addition, the Republicans keep attacking Barack Obama's plans for Iraq, even though the Iraqi government and "THE BUSH ADMINSTRATION" just signed an agreement that follows the plan Barack Obama has been advocating for months!!!

Since the news media will not report the facts, it is time for people to do their own research for the TRUTH!!! If you're into voting for skin color or gender, then that's you. Sad, but...you. However if you're voting for issues NOT lies, I began with web sites which are given at the top.

Sarah Palin's belittling "Community Organizing", was pathetic. She 'REALLY' does not get it because that takes more than a good heart...it takes sacrifice. To realize ONE college degree isn't enough to help these communities, go back to college, forfeit the 'BIG TIME MONEY', go back into the community to not only live but apply oneself is not in her. Only a selfish person would find that to be 'nothing'. That makes me ask what 'GOD' does a person like that serve??? To anyone who takes their vote seriously, do NOT be so quick to believe false accusations. Don't you know that besides your local news, the news has been cancelled for years??? All you have now-a-days is "talking heads". Use your computer to educate yourself!

Now that she's shown all the the US just how tough she is, the Republicans won't mind when Joe Biden cuts her knees off during the debates.... that would be fair, correct?

With her nomination, the culture wars have been ignited again... just when we women thought they were settled... oh no, we have the rabid right back telling us how we will live, deal with private medical issues, how our children won't be educated, etc. She is so far out to the right (based on her record in Alaska) that she is the throw back to the mid-90's with Phyllis...

Can't wait for her to answer why she kept all that money she got from the US taxpayers to pay for the bridge to no where.. which she voted for then voted against.and then told her people that they were going to keep the money anyway.. and she did.. Or why she tried to fire the librarian in her home town and ban a huge list of books (librarians don't forget)... and the list goes on and on...

I especially love the fact that unwed pregnancies will now be totally acceptable to the Christian Coalition... that's what happens when you teach only abstinence...

And last but not least... after she becomes the advocate for children with disabilities, she can explain to all of us why she cut the funding in Alaska for special education by 65% just this last year...

She's special.. for sure... and John can stand behind her with his 100million dollar trust fund wife and claim to understand middle class values...

GO OBAMA and BIDEN...

She can talk the talk, but can she walk the walk? I think NOT.
And Kelly, who are you to call any of us losers?! Maybe you should take a look in the mirror first. You know - clean up your own back yard.
I listened to Barack's speach and I listened to Palin's speech. What I heard Barack Obama say was that he had goals for getting the US OUT of the hole and he gave many, many people HOPE for the first time in the years that Bush has been in office. I even heard Barack say later that Palin's daughter's pregnancy has nothing to do with the election. What I heard from Palin was more drilling and COAL (how filthy) and bashing of Barack Obama. Yes, even Obama talked about off-shore drilling, but he did NOT advocate drilling anywhere he wanted. And even though George Bush has given the dems so much fuel, Barack did NOT go around insulting Bush.
Obama stayed with the issues and the HOPES of the American people and it was probably one of the ONLY political speaches I actually thought had some honesty behind it. Even if Barack accomplishes only 1/4 of his goals, Americans will be in so much better a place than they are now.
No matter how you say it, having McCain and Palin in office for the next four years scares the bejeebers out of me - gives me nightmares.
Heartsick in the Heartland

Mostly potshots and jokes about her opponents and nothing substantial about the real issues that are critical for all Americans be they Republican, Democrats, Independants, Liberals or Conservatives.
response to Kelly

Losers? Are you one of the "winners" who put GW in office not once, but twice? Thank you for supporting a man who was the biggest spender of all time with no way to pay for it. September 12, 2001: "go shopping" ...not a single mention of energy conservation, of the fact that our country's insatiable and over-the-top demand for oil has only strengthened the middle east (we are funding the very people we are fighting). A President who has divided and weakened the country in almost every way (while I appreciate the efforts of Homeland Security, the ports are not secure and Al Qaeda is a patient enemy - recall that it was 8 years between the WTC bombings of 1993 and 2001). His "my way or the highway" leadership has brought us to a weakening economy with 6.1% unemployment, a credit crisis, a crumbling infrastructure, a military that has been overworked and not cared for upon their return (Walter Reade and other hospitals have not been given the resources to properly care for the injured military personnel).

The one thing that the Bush administration has done well is helping AIDS cases is Africa and he probably has not received credit for it. It has been overshadowed by everything else that has been to our country's detriment. Overall, Bush is not a leader, he is a bully. For the Republican convention to have the theme of "Country First" and "Prosperity" seems disingenuous given the last * years.

So Kelly, you can pat yourself on the back for your role in helping this "winner". Sweet dreams.
McCain's speech

How many of you want to spend the next four years listening to the word "Warshington". That's almost as bad as nucular.

The truth will out. Thank you Opiionated. I don't think she will make it to November. They are currently teaching her to be a Vice President, because, as she said, she doesn't even know what a vice president does

The truth will out. Thank you Opinionated! She is currently being taught how to be a vice president, because, as she said herself, she doesn't even know what a vice president does! And she could be leading this country? She scares me to death. I don't think she will make it to November. Vote OBAMA/BIDEN in '08 for common sense leadership!

Too much finger wagging

She wagged her finger everytime I turned the channel to see the convention. Don't like that!

For those who are stupid enough to buy what the Republicans are selling this time deserve the catastrophic economy that will ensue (or rather, continue...).

You can think she has "spunk" all you want, but if you think she has what it takes to be commander in chief if anything happens to the septegenarian, think again.

And for the Hillary supporters thinking of voting for her, honestly... She's not fit to wipe Hillary's boots, let alone be made VP ahead of a truly qualified woman...nevermind the fact she isn't facing half the scrutiny Hillary dealt with.

I'm Canadian, so can't vote, but I was appalled by her denigrating community organizing. Saw a great quote which sums it up perfectly (sorry, forget exactly where): "Jesus was a community organizer; Pontius Pilate was a governor"

I find the opening phrase of the question ironic:"The national obsession with Sarah Palin continues..." On the contrary the national obsession, if you want to call it that, with Sarah Palin has just begun! What is named here as "national obsession" is, from me, just a sigh of relief that there is someone up there, from either party, that I can believe in and relate to! She is one of us girls, and she gets things done.

If you want to witness "national obsession", just look at Hollywood and the media drooling down their chins over Obama. Oprah was crying poignantly at his nomination during the DNC. Now, THAT is obsession! Hillary must be nauseated. The no-brainer Democratic ticket was Clinton-Obama; how'd they miss that?
Is Palin a Muslim Fundamentalist?

Hmm...this is something to think about:

Personally, I value the principles that prompted our founding fathers to create this great country. I am afraid of someone who wants to take away those rights!

Reply to a mean comment from a mean and poor spirited person. I have always liked dogs; I feel especially sorry for PIT BULLS that have been made mean. They are so corrupted and it is always sad when they have to be put down. We have some idea of Sarah's background and unlike the above mentionned poor soul, I am grateful that she is in the mix. smilies/cry.gif smilies/cry.gif
Palin's Education
written by Truth, September 17, 2008
I keep reading comments that Obama isn't qualified. Someone please tell me what Palin's education is. Look it up. It should end the enthusiasm about her vast experience.
