Biden is a good man, a good choice, but not the best choice IMO. I'll definitely vote for them, but I just don't care as much.
time will tell....

Joe Biden is the perfect other half at face value. It will take some time to see if these two are a good fit. "All new brooms sweep clean", but with all the crap that the Bush administration will leave behind, it is a tough job for anyone.
Who's Joe Biden?

His selection makes this campaign about as exciting as watching water boil. It also accentuates the fact that Obama doesnt know what he is doing and needs someone with experience to help him. That's a sad commentary for someone who wants to be President. This election is down to trying to pick the lesser of 2 evils
Great Choice for Republicans

Now the complete ticket is extreme left. No room for moderate views. Great contrast between the candidates. Those who think values are important will have a clear choice.
OBIDEN

If the ticket were reversed I'd actually vote for them.

I believe that the combination of a man of color and a woman would NOT have been a winning ticket, much as I would have liked to see it. I think that Obama chose a good man for his vp candidate. Joe Biden is no one's fool or pawn, and he will give his opinion to President Obama with no qualms. He is sharp on foreign affairs, an area where Obama needs help, and he is a good speaker - if he uses his own words! I have an idea the presidency will be more like Clinton/Gore than Bush'Cheney - at least, I hope so! I do think it balances the ticket, and sincerly hope it is a winner. I certainly intend to help all I can.

My pick from the start. He has vast experience and is nobody's fool, like our current VP. I think he perfectly balances the ticket and will work well with Obama. He will speak his mind and will be an active participant. Bill Richardson for Secretary of State, sans beard!

I think Biden gives srength to the ticket and gravitas in the area of foreign relations that some people think is McCain's trump card. If the whiners in Bilary Clinton's camp can "man-up" and commit to voting for OBama---clearly the choice closer to Hilary's beliefs---I believe the Dems will win in a walk. If, on the other hand, there really are as many turncoats as the media says, the Dems could end up doing what we do best; shooting ourselves in the foot because we're stuck in our selfish mode. Bill should deliver the speech topic he's been given, and Hilary should release her delegates NOW, not during a prime time love fest where her supporters take one more shot at OBama. I can tell you one thing, if the Clinton supporters sabatage the election in the hopes of putting her on a 2012 ticket, I will be their worst nightmare and will never---ever---support another Democrat!

A dream ticket...for Republicans. A 65 year old Washington insider who loves to hear his own voice and has a habit of saying the wrong things at the wrong times. Only an Obama/Hillary ticket could have made the Republicans lose sleep. Not exactly a "change" candidate. Obama wimped out, IMO.

Yes. But I won't vote for them just because I live in Delaware.

I am delighted with his choice. Positively inspired...two senators, one with practically no experience and one who has been a Washington insider his whole adult life. That's change I can believe in. smilies/cheesy.gif
Kudos for Obama

Senator Joe Biden was my first choice, too. It is a perfect balance as far as I'm concerned. Obama is going to appeal to the young who are looking for real change. Joe Biden has all the experience one could possibly ask for in a Senator. Both men are charismatic, wonderful speakers and have their hearts in the right place for our country. They are both from struggling but close families. All in all, suffice it to say, that this is truly a dream team and that includes their families! Who ever said that Obama could not make decisions for himself? Kudos to you Barack Obama, you are a winner in my book.

Biden is a great person, but I would have liked Hillery to be VP. I will vote for them.
OBAMA/BIDEN ALL THE WAY!

I think he made a great choice for the CHANGE LANDSLIDE we need in America!!!! smilies/cheesy.gif We need to become ONE and it starts at the top. Together we can achieve more; separate we can continue to plummet as a country with a weak dollar.
Good choice. Hear what Biden has to say about it.

Some thoughts from Biden on Barack. This clears it all up for me. http://election.newsmax.com/mc...ode=6870-1
No one knows the future

I voted for both Bush Presidents and plan to vote for Obama. McCain just does not have it. His team has the nerve to say things that are just disrespectful to the American people. No one knows the future. Obama is not trying to ride on his Daddy's coattails, he has worked hard from the grassroots and he's intelligent along with Biden- they can work it out!!!
Obama qualified? I dont think so
written by mpw, August 26, 2008
What gives Barack Obama the right to think he is qualified to be President? Nothing. He has spent 4 years in the Senate and not done anything significant while he was there, except scheme to steal the Democratic nomination. He has no military experience and really no international affairs exposure. I resent the fact that he is the rubber stamp candidate of the Democratic Party and that we are expected to support and vote for him just because of that. I wont. I want to see change and to take back our government, but I want the most qualified person to do it and he is not that person. He is a slick, smooth talking con artist who has blinded the American public. I dont see any great changes or plans coming out of his mouth and what I do see scares me. It scares me that he has chosen someone whose legacy is 35 years in Congress, even though Joe Biden has experience Obama lacks. It is the same white male syndrome and a real slap in the face to women. There is nothing different or new. It is sad that we have such poor quality to choose from this election year. Part of it I blame on the media who fail to look at the qualities the candidates possess and only look at how many viewers or readers their coverage will bring.

I personally think that he should have picked Hillary Clinton. She should now go off and run as an independent and I know she can not afford to do that. I think he felt threatened by her and her husband, but lets face it Bill and Hillary Clinton have the experience to turn this country's economy around since he already did it. I like Brack and his attention to the little people and the suffering of the American family but I feel he made the wrong decision.
Joe Biden

I think under the circumstances Obama's choice was the best one he could have made .He has many years of experience in foreign affairs and I do like the man .
I would have liked Richardson but then if Obama had chosen him he would have had to deal with the fall out from those who felt he betrayed Clinton when he supported Obama .I happened to have not seen it that way but I know those Clinton hold outs would have!
Please.....

Let's get over Hilary being on the ticket and move FORWARD. I am sick of all the Hilary followers crying over spilled milk , she lost and now we need to get the country back on track. Hilary really wouldn't be a great VP because she loves to be in control, give another person a chance Bill and Hilary had 2 terms in office.
America need a Change, new insight,a young man who can withstand the pressure and a fresh team with young and old people ready to make changes. In this election there will be more young people participating in the voting process, I think that is awesome. There is Senators who's been in office for years and haven't done half of what Barack has done in four years.
If you are an American you deserve a chance so, myself , my kids ,everyone can run for office.
Biden is the best choice for Barack, they seem to have a great relationship . Two family man who can relate to many poor and working class Americans and knows how it feels to struggle.
It's strange how Cindy McCain talk so much about giving to so many charities ,by the way she is worth about 100 million dollars and she doesn't even acknowledge her sister ( stating last week she has no other sibling) who is struggling. Her sister spouse stated he would Never vote for John McCain. That says a lot about family values and togetherness.

Thank you.....
Barack Obama and Joe Biden

I know Barack picked a honest man for his sidekick, I know that they are going to get blamed for alot of what Bush and Cheney never did, staying home and run our Country.By the way Bush & Cheney doesn't know how to run any country because they have made a mess of the entire Globe and thats not fair to us American Citizen's.I will speak up in their behalf when something goes wrong because this is a Republican MESS
that is going to take more then one term to even start to be cleaned up. Shame on the Republicans.
I will be rooting for Barack and Joe all the way.

Boy, Carlon, you REALLY want people to watch that little sound bite the the McCain camp put out, don't you? You've put the link up three times already. While it's true that Obama has less experience than McCain, I don't think that's a bad thing. The important thing is that he is smart enough to know what he doesn't know and to put together a team of people (including Sen. Biden) who can fill in the gaps. The truth is, there is no one person who is completely versed in all of the important issues that are facing our country. I still think that Obama is our best hope -- voting for McCain will mean more of the same disastrous policies the the Bush presidency has saddled our country with. While it's true that the legislative branch make the laws, you have to also acknowledge that the executive branch has a huge role in what laws make it through -- a case in point is that we wouldn't be in this terrible war if the Bush/Cheney White House hadn't pushed it for their own selfish reasons and with such unscrupulous tactics. So, Carlon, I'm really sorry that you will let this McCain ad make up your mind for you instead of studying the issues and where each candidate stands. It's every voters obligation to study the issues and not be swayed by campaign ads that are often misleading and sometimes outright lies.
Obama and Biden
written by Carol G, August 27, 2008
I think Obama was wise to choose someone with more experience in politics, although I don't know anything about Biden. Someone whose opinion I respect does know Biden and I'm good with that.

I think there was too much water under the bridge to choose Hillary Clinton. I don't think Americans are ready for a woman VP, which is really sad. Women have always been at the bottom of the list for advances. Too bad more women don't stand up and attempt to change that.
I am definitely going to support Barack and Biden.
