A woman from Ferndale, Mich. is suing United Airlines after she was left alone on a plane for hours after it had landed. Ginger McGuire was aboard a United Express flight from Washington, DC to Philadelphia. She says she fell asleep during the flight. It landed shortly after midnight Tuesday but no one woke her up until a cleaning crew found her four hours later. United Airlines says they are working with a regional partner carrier to determine why the plane wasn't cleared upon landing. McGuire told reporters, "I fell asleep on the plane and next thing you know I wake up, it's 4:00 in the morning. Nobody's on the plane. Nothing." McGuire has hired Geoffrey Fieger who is filing a lawsuit for false imprisonment, emotional distress and negligence.
Question: Do you think that McGuire has grounds for her lawsuit? |

As lawmakers consider a compromise plan to repeal "don't ask, don't tell," a prominent conservative group is arguing that overturning the policy against gays in the military will increase "homosexual misconduct" - even "sexual bullying, male rape, and forcible sodomy" – in the armed services. During a conference call with reporters , the Family Research Council's Senior Fellow for Policy Studies, Peter Sprigg, held a conference call with reporters featuring retired military leaders and officials from the conservative group. He argued that publicly available information from the Pentagon on sexual assaults in the military, along with other information, proves that the military currently has a problem with "homosexual misconduct." "Homosexuals in the military are three times more likely to commit sexual assaults than heterosexuals are, relative to their numbers," Sprigg said. "We believe this problem would only increase if the current law against homosexuality in the military, which was enacted in 1993, were to be repealed." Question: Do you think the Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy should be repealed or not? |

When we first heard about Mattel's newest addition to the Barbie product line, we thought it was a joke. However, it is indeed very real and we thought it would be perfect fodder for Your Two Cents.
The Barbie "Back to Basics" collection is a new line of Barbie dolls dressed in stylish cocktail attire: little black dresses, off-the-shoulder frocks and tiny strapless numbers. But one doll in the line is grabbing all the attention: No. 10, who's quickly earned the nickname "Busty Barbie." The African-American doll sports a knee-length black dress with long sleeves and a deep, plunging neckline - revealing cleavage that would make one of Tiger Woods' mistresses jealous. Some parents have expressed concern about letting their daughters play with a doll who seems to be encouraging the fake-breasted stripper look. While some of Mattel's Barbie creations are clearly meant for adult collectors and priced accordingly, the Back to Basics Barbies retail for a kid-friendly $19.99 and are sold at national chains such as Target. Question: What do you think of the new Barbie collection - too risque or OK-to-play?

The audience at the French Open could be heard mumbling "oh-la-la" over Venus Williams' outfit that she wore in her first match - which she won. The corset-style dress revealed black thong underwear that was lacy with red trim and had some see-through effects working (although upon looking at the many picture available, she did have on skin-colored boy shorts underneath the dress and over the thong).
Usually, tennis' dramas about apparel are reserved for stodgy Wimbledon, where players are forced to wear white. Critics are all over the place saying everything from tennis needs a little spice to she should have been made to change the outfit. Question: What do you think about Venus' outfit choice? |
