Tiger Woods To Break His Silence
Your Two Cents!

Tomorrow, Tiger Woods will address a gathering of "friends, family and close colleagues" at the PGA Headquarters in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Agent Mark Steinberg said Woods would not answer any questions. It will be the golfer's first public appearance since his November 27 car crash outside his home near Orlando, Florida.

According to Steinberg: "Tiger Woods will be speaking to a small group of friends, colleagues and close associates. Tiger plans to discuss his past and his future and he intends to apologize for his behavior. While Tiger feels that what happened is fundamentally a matter between him and his wife, he also recognizes that he has hurt and let down a lot of other people who were close to him. He also let down his fans. He wants to begin the process of making amends, and that's what he's going to discuss."

Steinberg said he didn't know if Woods' wife, Elin Nordegren, would appear with her husband.

Question: Do you think that Elin should appear with her husband?

The Nutty Professor
Your Two Cents!
During a faculty meeting at the University of Alabama-Huntsville, Amy Bishop methodically fired shots to the heads of six colleagues, killing three and wounding three others. Bishop was apparently upset over recently being denied tenure by the university. Bishop had also accidentally (with one of three shotgun blasts) shot and killed her brother 24 years earlier. Then 17 years ago, she was questioned  by investigators about a pipe bomb sent to a former colleague who was due to give her a negative evaluation.

Question: Do you think school/university employees should be subjected to more detailed and extensive background checks than they currently are?

Tragedy at the Olympics
Your Two Cents!

Last Friday, as Vancouver was poised to open the 2010 Winter Olympics, Georgian luger Nodar Kumaritashvili was tragically killed in a horrific crash on the luge course during a practice run. The course, which has been touted as being the fastest in the world, has produced speeds of up to 100 MPH. Much discussion has been had since the accident about the safety of the sport as trends push for higher speeds and more dangerous courses

Question: Do you think that the luge has become too dangerous of a sport for the Olympics?

Political Hatred in Today's World
Your Two Cents!

With Election Day fast approaching, so is over-the-top political bitterness. A likeness of vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin hanging by a noose from the roof of a Los Angeles house has sparked outrage among Republican supporters. Four college students in Oregon are punished for hanging an Obama effigy from a tree. A home's Halloween decorations features a doll of John McCain surrounded by "flames" in the chimney.

And the latest: Federal agents have broken up a plot to assassinate Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama and shoot or decapitate 102 black people, including schoolchildren, in a Tennessee murder spree planned by two neo-Nazi skinheads (see photo at left).

Question: Can anything be done about the political bitterness/hatred, and what does it say about the future of our country?

Teenage Trick or Treat
Your Two Cents!

They mostly don’t care if you think they’re too big, too old and too intimidating to be trick-or-treating. To them, there are things in life more important than a stranger's disdain -- free Almond Joys, for example. Teens say they want to have a good time, they’re low on funds – and they’re shameless. They shrug off the annoyed responses when adults see them holding out their treat bags. One homeowner resents the big kids take the candy intended for the little ones. He has his own system for discouraging the older teens who ring his bell on Halloween. “You just don't give them the best candy," says this father. He thinks this beats getting your house egged.

Question:  What do you think the age limit should be for trick-or-treating?
